These 4mm calibrated round gemstone beads are part of a large range of our beautiful gemstone bead collection, and are available in many sizes. The strand length is approximately 39-40cm and will contain around 97 beads, this can sometimes be more or less, occasionally the bead size may vary, we will note the measured size in the product title in brackets if this is the case. These beads are sold by the length, loose strung (temporary strung) ready to be incorporated into your jewellery designs. The standard drill hole is around 0.8mm. There is a misconception that Garnets are only a red gem but in fact they come in a variety of colours including purple, red, orange, yellow, green, brown, black, or colourless. The name "Garnet" comes from the Latin granatus, a grain possibly in reference to malum granatum (pomegranate) a plant with red seeds similar in shape, size and colour to some Garnet Crystals.
